A chronograph with a wood-and-steel case, Japanese Miyota movement inside, so it's not just a wood shell around a mystery motor. Zebra wood or ebony, paired with stainless steel on the band. Real wood, sanded and finished, not a wood-look decal.

Specs

  • Case diameter: 44.3mm
  • Band width: 22mm, total band length 220mm
  • Movement: Japan Miyota
  • Glass: Hardlex
  • Case & band material: Zebra wood & stainless steel, or ebony & stainless steel
  • Buckle: double push clasp
  • Care: wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid soaking the wood portions in water

Why this over the cheap version: A plastic-and-steel watch cracks at the case and the strap splits within a year. Real wood doesn't do either. It wears in with use instead of wearing out.

Fit and sizing

Wrap a strip of paper around your wrist, mark where it overlaps, then measure the strip flat. That's your wrist size. The dial is 44.3mm and the band is 22mm wide, 220mm long in total. The band mixes wood and stainless steel, so expect it to feel heavier than an all-wood strap.

Day to day

Keep the wood parts out of water. The steel parts handle a wipe-down fine, but the wood doesn't like soaking.

Care

Wipe it with a dry cloth after wearing it. Take it off for the shower, the dishes and the gym. Keep it out of hot cars and long stretches of direct sun, which can dry out and warp wood. Wood is a natural material, so grain and tone vary from watch to watch. Yours won't match the photo exactly. That's the wood, not a defect.

Battery

It's quartz, so there's a small battery inside. It typically lasts one to three years, and any watch counter can swap it in a few minutes.

What we can't tell you

We don't have a forestry certification to show for the wood in this watch, so we're not claiming one. The claim is simpler: a wood strap outlasts a cheap plastic one.

Who it suits

Good if you want a dressier watch with some weight to it. Skip it if you want something very light, or you're hard on watches at work.

Buying it

It ships in about 8 to 12 business days, so order a couple of weeks ahead if it's a gift. If it's not right, you have 30 days to return it with a prepaid label.

Nothing life-changing, just stuff that works.
