How it works day to day

Use the brush for pots and baked-on food, a sponge for plates and glasses, and the cloths for counters and spills. Rinse the cloths and let them dry between uses so they don't sour.

Care and honest limits

• Cloths can be machine washed. Skip fabric softener, which coats the fibers and makes them less absorbent.
• Cellulose sponges wear out first. Replace them when they smell or fall apart, and compost them where facilities accept cellulose.
• The brush bristles are natural fiber and will shed a little at first. Let it dry upright.
• Sponges and cloths hold bacteria like any kitchen tool. Replace them on a schedule rather than waiting for them to fall apart.
• We don't claim the kit is "biodegradable" as a whole. Cellulose sponges are compostable, but the other parts have different end-of-life routes.
